Description
This beginner course introduces the fundamentals of hand-building pottery. Through weekly demonstrations, students will learn the essentials of understanding form, structure, and clay control. Students will be introduced to handle making and various forms of surface decoration using slips, under glazes and glazes. Participants will receive approx. 5kg of reclaimed earthenware clay (cone 06). Through weekly skill building projects and handouts, students will develop a historical and contemporary reference to hand building, styles, methods and surface treatments. Please bring a cloth or rag, and wear an apron or clothes you don't mind getting messy to class. Please note refunds are not issued 1-week prior to classes starting. Instructor Kyrell
