Swim Lesson Dates: July 9, July 16, July 23, July 30, August 6, August 13, August 20, August 27
Participants will develop confidence, fitness, and leadership skills in an energetic open‑water environment. Junior Lifeguard offers an engaging alternative to traditional lesson structures, focusing on personal‑best achievement rather than test sheets or award‑based progressions. This program is ideal for quick learners, swimmers between levels, and youth who thrive in a high‑activity, team‑focused setting. Participants will build on the skills they already have while developing stronger swimming abilities, lifesaving knowledge, teamwork, and leadership. Activities may include lifesaving challenges, aquatic fitness, friendly competition, and skill‑building tailored to each participant’s abilities. We welcome swimmers with a wide range of skills, and friends or siblings are encouraged to join together, even if they are of different ages or ability levels. Swimmers will also have the opportunity to earn Lifesaving Awards, including Rookie Patrol (Swimmer 7), Ranger Patrol (Swimmer 8), and Star Patrol (Swimmer 9).
Prerequisites: Participants must meet the Swim to Survive® standard (roll into deep water, tread for 1 minute, swim 50 metres). There is no pass or fail - success is measured through effort, improvement, and personal achievement.
