Description
The Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor/Lifesaving Instructor course prepares the instructor to teach and evaluate the swimming strokes and related skills found in the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life and Lifesaving programs. Candidates acquire proven teaching methods, planning skill and a variety of stroke development drills and correction techniques, Canadian Swim Patrol Program; Bronze Star; Bronze Medallion; Bronze Cross; Lifesaving Fitness; Distinction; Basic and Emergency First Aid and CPR; CPR-A; CPR-B and CPR-C. A 100% mandatory attendance is required as this course is continuous evaluation. Prerequisites: 15 years old by course end date and Bronze Cross certification and Assistant Instructors (need not be current). Candidates must complete 15 hours volunteering with Lifesaving Courses, prior to or during the Instructor Course.
