Description
If a participant requires extra support to fully enjoy a City of Greater Sudbury program, they may be eligible for the Inclusion Support Service. Through this program, a dedicated staff member will assist the participant for the duration of the program.
Support requests are reviewed in the order they are received, based on available resources.
How do you know if your child needs additional support?
• Extra support is required in the classroom.
• A physical, medical, developmental, and/or learning disability exists that could affect the safety of the participant or that of other participants.
• The participant is currently associated with a support agency or program.
• Requires extra support to participant in group activities.
• The participant has a safety plan with their education institution.
If you align with one or more of these statements, please submit a request form.
The Inclusion Support staff can support campers with the following areas:
• Positive encouragement and engagement support
• Guidance and daily routine support
• Behaviour support
• Safety awareness
• Communication support
• Program adaptation
At this time, the Inclusion Support staff cannot support the following:
• Lifts and transfers
• Toileting
• G-Tube feeding
• Personal Care
• Handle Unsafe Behaviour
• Act as a 1:1 Therapist or Specialist
