Description

Performance Fundamentals is an open, collaborative class for artists of all backgrounds who want to explore the core skills of performance while building a show together. Actors, musicians, visual artists, and curious creatives without a specific practice are all welcome. Throughout the session, students learn the fundamentals of stage presence and storytelling, while building key emotional, collaborative, and technical skills needed to work as part of a creative ensemble. The class is divided between guided instruction and real time creation. Students practice how to listen, respond, take creative risks, and support one another, then apply these skills directly as they develop material for a final variety show. Depending on the group’s interests, the final performance may be a lineup of individual acts, a collaborative piece, or a mix of both. By the end of the course, students leave with a deeper understanding of performance, a stronger sense of ensemble, and a fully realized show created together. All experience levels are welcome. Refund Policy: A prorated refund is available for any withdrawals prior to the start of the 3rd class. Once the 3rd class starts, no refund will be provided.
