Goldwork refers to embroidery done using metal threads or wires. It has cultural significance throughout Asia and Europe and was historically found in imperial, ceremonial, and religious dress. Modern goldwork is still used in high end garments around the world today. Generally considered a more advanced technique; this class is designed to be beginner-friendly. You will be guided through terms, materials, and the basics of getting started. We will create artwork of a sun together; a popular motif found in goldwork. We will use our completed goldwork embroidery to create a decorative ornament perfect for the holidays! All materials included.
One week’s notice for full refund must be provided. If less than one week’s notice is given, 50% of the fee will be refunded. If notice is given on or after the start date of the program, no refund will be provided.
