Description

The National Lifeguard Pool certification is designed to develop the fundamental values, judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness required by lifeguards. The National Lifeguard course emphasizes the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes which will assist the lifeguard to provide effective safety supervision in swimming pool environments. Please check the prerequisites and ensure you have everything necessary before registering. Prerequisite(s) 15 yrs by the last day of the course, Bronze Cross and a Standard First Aid by one of the following organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Lifesaving Society, St. John Ambulance, Canadian Ski Patrol, Heart and Stroke Foundation. Candidates will be required to pass the endurance challenge of 400m in 10mins by the end of the course. *Please note additional fees will be added at your time of purchase for the candidate fee and manual. A Pocket Mask and Fanny Pack are required pieces of equipment for this course (purchasable at the front desk of Sungod Recreation Centre, Ladner Leisure Centre or Winskill Aquatic & Fitness Centre). Refund Policy: Withdrawal required one week in advance of course start date to receive a refund. If less than one week’s notice is given, no refund will be provided.
