Description
What’s Your Story invites adults to explore their own history, identity, and lived experience through the creation of an original monologue. Over the course of the class, students investigate the moments, memories, and influences that have shaped who they are. Through guided writing prompts, research exercises, and group discussion, participants learn how to articulate their positionality and transform personal truth into compelling performance.
The class supports students as they trace their own lineages, examine the places and people that formed them, and consider how their stories connect to the wider community. Instruction focuses on both the creative and reflective process, helping students build confidence in their voice while learning how to craft a clear, engaging narrative.
By the end of the session, each student will have developed a polished monologue rooted in their own reality. Together, these pieces form a final presentation that reflects the diversity, complexity, and shared spirit of the community we call home.
