Description

Bronze Medallion teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education: judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness. Bronze Medallion challenges the candidate both mentally and physically. Candidates acquire the assessment and problem-solving skills needed to make good decisions in, on and around the water. Bronze Medallion is a prerequisite for Assistant Lifeguard training in Bronze Cross. Prerequisites: Minimum 13 years of age or Bronze Star certification. *Participants under 13 using Bronze Star as the prerequisite must register in person or over the registration line and present proof of Bronze Star **Full attendance is strongly recommended. Any absence is approved at the instructor’s discretion This program is delivered in partnership with the Lifesaving Society BC & Yukon. As an affiliate, the City of Coquitlam offers programs and awards in accordance with the Lifesaving Society’s standards and policies. Candidate information, including name, date of birth, contact details, and course results, will be shared with the Lifesaving Society for certification and award processing in accordance with the Lifesaving Society’s Privacy Policy and applicable legislation. All course materials and content are the property of the Lifesaving Society
