Set in 1936, The Sting is a superbly written and crafted "caper film". After their friend is killed by a vengeful organized crime boss (Robert Shaw), two small-time grifters (Paul Newman and Robert Redford) attempt to swindle him out of a fortune with a horse racing con. The Best Picture Oscar winner from 1973, David S. Ward's screenplay features numerous unexpected plot twists that even fool the audience! Scott Joplin's ragtime score is the cherry on top.
