National Lifeguard education is designed to develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard. The course develops the basic lifeguarding skills, principles and decision-making processes that will assist the lifeguard to evaluate and adapt to different aquatic facilities and emergencies.
Prerequisites: Minimum 15 years of age, Bronze Cross certification, and Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid & CPR-C certificate. A Standard First Aid & CPR-C certificate from a training agency approved by the Ontario government is also acceptable. Candidates will receive: Alert Manual.
Candidates should bring their Canadian Lifesaving Manual for reference, and come prepared with a whistle.
Candidates can borrow a pocket mask or purchase one from the front desk.
