The simplest stories are often the most moving and entertaining! Ernest Borgnine plays Marty Piletti, a socially awkward, middle-age butcher who seeks someone to love. He thinks he has found his match in Clara Snyder, a rather plain high school teacher, but Marty has to contend with a disapproving mother and his shallow bachelor friends. Marty won the Academy Award for Best Picture of 1955 while Borgnine won the Oscar for Best Actor. Pre-screening intro and after-film discussion hosted by a 50+ Volunteer. Snacks & Beverages will be available for purchase.
