Description
This weeklong workshop is designed for painters and textile artists interested in working across mediums. Students will explore painting on textiles as well as incorporating textile elements and techniques into their paintings. Through the exploration of both abstraction and realism—including recognizable forms such as portraiture and landscape—participants will develop a versatile visual language.
A range of materials and processes will be introduced, including black drawing inks, acrylics, pencil, stitching, fabric paints, paper and textile collage, appliqué, and simple silkscreen printing. Emphasis is placed on layering techniques to create rich, expressive, and visually dynamic artworks. Instructor: Eleanor Hannan
