Description

This introduction to blacksmithing starts with learning the importance of safety in a blacksmith's shop. The hands-on component has students lighting a coal forge, as well as making a coat hook and dinner triangle. Students will learn how to heat mild steel in a forge and shape it with a hammer and anvil. Steel-toed boots recommended.

This Level 1 workshop is considered an introductory blacksmithing course. Successful completion of the course fulfills the prerequisite for taking BVM's Level 2 courses.

Cancellations within 48 hours of the start of the course will not be issued a refund.
