Description
This Shibori workshop offers a hands-on exploration of the ancient Japanese art of Shibori resist dyeing technique. Participants learn different ways of folding, twisting, and binding fabric, exploring traditional techniques such as (fold and clamp), (folding and dipping), and (pleating and binding) to create intricate, one-of-a-kind textile patterns. By the end of the sessions, participants leave with their own hand-dyed creation: 1 scarf, 1 bandana, and a collection of hand dyed rice paper. This Shibori workshop is an immersive, sensory experience in color, texture, and tradition. Open to all skill levels. Students purchase their own scarves and gloves. See STUDENT SUPPLY LIST in notes section below. $15 supply fee applicable for all other supplies. Instructor: Mariana Frochtengarten
