Description
This extended course is for students who would like a more in-depth introduction to blacksmithing. The hands-on component has students lighting a coal forge, as well as making a coat hook, dinner triangle and striker. Get started on your new blacksmithing hobby with information on what equipment is needed, how and where to get it, and the differences between coal and propane forges. Steel-toed boots recommended.
This Level 1 workshop is considered an introductory blacksmithing course. Successful completion of the course fulfills the prerequisite for taking BVM's Level 2 courses.
