Description
Learn introductory and intermediate handbuilding techniques to plan and execute sculptural works in clay that will help you discover your own unique style. Through several instructor-led assignments, you will explore methods for using different types of reference materials to inform your sculptural language. Finally, you will resolve a self-directed project that allows you to expand on these lessons in a more personal way. Surface treatments including texture, staining and washes will be discussed, as well as contrast on ceramic surfaces and a variety of finishing techniques. Tools and clay not included in course fee.
