Description
Create beautiful heirloom gifts, sculptures and ornaments finished with unique crystalline glazes. In this course you will learn suitable forms and catchers for crystalline glazes, and proper glaze application. The last week of class includes a group critique of the results and removal of the catchers. This advanced-level course is not suitable for beginners. Participants must be capable of centring clay on a wheel and throwing complex forms. If a patron does not have the required wheel throwing experience, they may be asked to withdraw. Please note that only pieces made during class will be fired with crystalline glazes, no externally produced ceramics from other studios or Open Workshops. Clay not included in course fee. C-3, C-4 and C-5 clay may be used in this class. The instructor will provide additional information about suitable clays. No refunds after September 14. No class October 27. Instructor: Emily Sheppard
