Description
NEW!!! Explore the beauty of botanicals through the lively lens of Impressionism in this 6-week painting class. Working with acrylic paint, students will learn how Impressionist artists used dynamic brushstrokes, vibrant colour palettes, and simplified forms to capture the essence and atmosphere of flowers and plant life. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on practice, we will study how expressive mark-making and colour relationships can bring still life compositions to life. Students will experiment with loose, energetic brushwork, learn to observe light and colour in natural forms, and develop their own expressive interpretations of botanical subjects. This class is suitable for beginners and continuing painters who want to loosen their style, build confidence with acrylics, and explore a more intuitive, painterly approach to still life. See STUDENT SUPPLY LIST in Notes section below. Instructor: Celan Bouillet
