Ancient Philosophy for the Modern World

In this course we will examine the philosophies of the greatest thinkers in ancient history with a view towards making use of their wisdom in our modern lives and dilemmas. We will focus primarily on the early Western philosophers of ancient Greece, with occasional reference to other traditions such as those of ancient China and India. Besides coverage of the basic material, time will be allotted to interactive discussion and debate, and the utilization of their wisdom in our everyday affairs.
