Description
Paint a vibrant fall scene with a focus on birch trees. Learn different ways to paint birch trees in a colourful fall landscape. Each class will include simple step-by-step instruction to build your scene and colour layers to depict a fall forest with birch trees. We will use some fun techniques using plastic wrap, salt, a plastic card and sponges to create texture. Supplies are not included. A supply list will be provided upon registration.
Please note: This class will be held at Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre, 333 Erie Ave.
Watercolours supplies can be purchased at Staples or Michael's.
Watercolour paints:
- Lemon yellow
- Cadmium yellow or (New gamboge, perm. Yellow deep)
- Cadmium red or (scarlet lake)
- Quinacridone red (or cool red)
- Alizarin crimson or Permanent Rose
- Ultramarine blue
- Cobalt turquoise light
- Burnt Sienna
- Raw Sienna or yellow ochre
Paint brushes
- 1 inch flat brush or larger for washes
- #4 rigger (branches and detail)
- #8 and #12 round (you could also choose flat brushes)
Other material:
- Watercolour Paper (11 by 15 cold press or rough with some cotton rag)
- Plastic card
- Palette (with large mixing area)
- Paper towel
- Masking tape
- Support board (foam core, plexiglass, etc..)
- Water container
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Sharpener
