This course will help you to develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard. It develops the basic lifeguarding skills, principles and decision-making processes that will assist a lifeguard to evaluate and adapt to different aquatic facilities and emergencies. You need to be 15 years or over and have a Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid certification from one of the following; Lifesaving Society, St. John Ambulance, Canadian Red Cross Society, or Canadian Ski Patrol. There is an extra fee for the Alert: Lifeguarding in Action book $54.90 and whistle $10.00 that you need for this course. You can buy the book at our pool reception desk.
