Description
This course is for both beginners and experienced glass artists. The emphasis is on the ‘copper foil’ method. Beginners will learn how to cut glass, fit pieces together, foil their pieces, and apply solder to create a finished suncatcher. Beginners usually finish 3-4 suncatchers over a 6-week course.
Experienced participants can work on larger projects of their choosing. Patterns are available, or participants can work from on-line patterns that they provide.
There is also the option of creating ‘Mosaic Projects’. Participants can assemble 4” or 6” coasters, or create a framed mosaic picture.
Students must wear closed-toe shoes. There is significant standing required for this course.
Programs occurring at Bob Callahan Flower City Senior Centre will require a Flower City Senior Membership in order to register for a spot in drop-ins or registered programs.
