Description
For participants with no previous skating ability. Participants will be introduced to standing up, falling down, marching on the ice and weight transfers.
Learn to Skate Information and Equipment Fitting program available prior to program start to learn more about the Learn to Skate program and ensure participants have the correct fit for their skate equipment.
Active participation by a parent/guardian (14+ years of age) is required. Only one parent/guardian may attend class with a maximum of one registered participant. The parent/guardian is required to be on the ice with single bladed skates, and a CSA approved hockey helmet.
Required Equipment: All participants must wear single bladed skates and a Canadian Standard Association (CSA) certified hockey helmet. Please ensure skates are sharpened. Double-bladed skates are not permitted.
Recommended Equipment: Facemasks are strongly recommended for all participants. Mittens or gloves, and warm clothes including snow pants or slush pants are highly recommended.
