Description
These lessons are designed for individuals living with disabilities. Participants will be broken into groups based on their ability and will participate in a structured lesson to work on improving their skating skills from the Brampton Learn to Skate Program. Lessons are equipped with inclusion support staff, request for additional support for this program is not required.
Required Equipment: All participants must wear single bladed skates and a Canadian Standard Association (CSA) certified hockey helmet. Please ensure skates are sharpened. Double-bladed skates are not permitted.
Recommended Equipment: Facemasks are strongly recommended for all participants. Mittens or gloves, and warm clothes including snow pants or slush pants are highly recommended.
Due to the duration length of this program, participants under ten (10) years of age do not need to be accompanied in the program. However, parents/guardians are expected to remain at the program location for its duration in the event their immediate assistance is required.
As a program requirement, all participants must have a current Inclusion and Integration Participant Profile Form completed prior to program start.
