Description

The Lifesaving Society Swim and Lifesaving Instructors course prepares the instructor to teach and evaluate basic swim strokes and related skills for the Swim for Life program as well as the pillars of lifesaving - knowledge, skill, fitness and judgement - for the Bronze Awards and Patrol levels. Candidates acquire proven teaching methods, a variety of stroke development drills, and correction techniques. Candidates must provide proof of identification (valid government ID with full legal name, and birth date) and proof of the following prerequisites: 15 years of age by the last day of the course and Bronze Cross certification (does not need to be current), on the first day of the course. Required Materials: Lifesaving Instructor Pack. Candidates should bring their Canadian Lifesaving Manual and Canadian First Aid Manual for reference. Participants will also require a whistle. Required Fees: Candidates will be charged the price of the exam fee required by the Lifesaving Society upon registration. Course Schedule: Fridays: 6:00 pm -10:00 pm Saturdays: 11:30 am - 8:00 pm Sundays: 11:30 am - 8:00pm
