Description
Participants will learn to stand up, push while walking forwards, stopping, introduction to jumps, introduction to two foot glides and backwards skating.
Learn to Skate Information and Equipment Fitting program available prior to program start to learn more about the Learn to Skate program and ensure participants have the correct fit for their skate equipment.
Prerequisites: No previous skating ability or Parent and Child/Skating 1A
Required Equipment: All participants must wear single bladed skates and a Canadian Standard Association (CSA) certified hockey helmet. Please ensure skates are sharpened. Double-bladed skates are not permitted.
Recommended Equipment: Facemasks are strongly recommended for all participants. Mittens or gloves, and warm clothes including snow pants or slush pants are highly recommended.
This program occurs outdoors, please dress for the weather.
Due to the duration length of this program, participants under ten (10) years of age do not need to be accompanied in the program. However, parents/guardians are expected to remain at the program location for its duration in the event their immediate assistance is required.
