Description
This course is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and resources required to plan and deliver Lifesaving Society First Aid awards, including Basic First Aid with CPR-C and AED, Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C and AED and Airway Management. Candidates will be able to teach participants in first aid courses for which they hold the corresponding first aid certification. Instructors can only certify upon the successful completion of the Lifesaving Society Examiner course and apprenticeship.
Candidates must provide proof of identification (valid government ID with full legal name, and birth date) and proof of the following prerequisites: 18 years of age by the last day of the course, and Standard First Aid certification from a WSIB-approved agency (does not need to be current), on the first day of the course.
Required Materials: Instructor Manual, First Aid Award Guide, Canadian First Aid Manual, and First Aid Instructor Resource download. Candidates must purchase all course materials directly through the Lifesaving Society.
Required Fees: Candidates will be charged the price of the exam fee required by the Lifesaving Society upon registration.
