Camp hours are from 9:00am-4:00pm. Before and After Care (7:30-9:00am and 4:00-6:00pm) is available for an extra fee. Late pick-up fees may apply. Campers may be grouped based on age and ability. Please ensure your phone number and email is updated in your City of Brampton xplor account for communication purposes. Campers must bring a nut-free lunch and snacks, a reusable water bottle and wear comfortable outdoor/weather appropriate clothing. Have all items labelled with child's name. Leave all valuables at home, the City of Brampton is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Campers may also participate in various camp activities such as cooperative games, sports, crafts and water activities. These activities vary by location. Campers will be introduced to the VEX GO Kit and learn to build effectively using all categories of pieces in the Kit. Challenges will be themed around a Mission to Mars as they build to create a launch pad, spaceship, mars buggy, and mars base build. They will then focus on motion for level 2 and build the Super Car and investigate the properties of speed. They will test the distance a Super Car can travel, the variables that impact that distance, and how to calculate average speed. They will also build and use the Magnet Car to investigate the properties of magnetism and magnetic force by testing what is and is not magnetic. Students will then use the magnetism to drive the Magnet Car. Finally, they will build the Pendulum using the VEX GO Kit and engineer a game to knock over objects. Campers may also participate in various camp activities such as cooperative games, sports, water activities and crafts. These activities vary by location.
