Description
This course is designed to begin to transition candidates from lifesaving to lifeguarding knowledge and skills. This course will teach candidates the key principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities, the importance of teamwork and communication, and the prevention of and response to aquatic emergencies. The timed swim for Bronze Cross is 400m within 11 minutes.
Candidates must provide proof of identification (valid government ID with full legal name, and birth date) and proof of the following prerequisites: Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid certifications (does not need to be current), on the first day of the course.
Required Materials: Canadian First Aid Manual and Bronze Cross Workbook will be charged at the time of registration. Participants will also require a whistle.
