Description
Participants will develop backwards crossovers and will further develop stopping, forward crossovers, backwards skating, skating on edges and turns.
Prerequisites: Skating 3 and/or can perform forward crossovers, snowplows and parallel stops, and backwards sculling.
Required Equipment: All participants must wear single bladed skates and a Canadian Standard Association (CSA) certified hockey helmet. Please ensure skates are sharpened. Double-bladed skates are not permitted.
Recommended Equipment: Facemasks are strongly recommended for all participants. Mittens or gloves, and warm clothes including snow pants or slush pants are highly recommended.
Due to the duration length of this program, participants under ten (10) years of age do not need to be accompanied in the program. However, parents/guardians are expected to remain at the program location for its duration in the event their immediate assistance is required.
