Description
Participants will develop backwards crossovers and will further develop stopping, forward crossovers, backwards skating, skating on edges and turns.
Due to the duration length of this program, participants under ten (10) years of age do not need to be accompanied in the program, unless otherwise stated. However, parents/guardians are expected to remain at the program location for its duration in the event their immediate assistance is required.
Prerequisites: Skating 3 and/or can perform forward crossovers, snowplows and parallel stops, and backwards sculling.
Required Equipment: All participants must wear a Canadian Standard Association (CSA) certified hockey helmet. Facemasks are strongly recommended for all participants. Please ensure skates are sharpened. Double-bladed skates are not permitted. Mittens or gloves are required for all participants. Warm clothes including snow pants or slush pants are recommended.
