Description
This camp is designed for campers with disabilities where they will partake in activities including crafts, co-operative games, sports, games, music, and special events. Campers will also have opportunities to go swimming and engage in other water activities. These fun and inclusive activities will also promote social, fine, and gross motor skill development.
The staff to camper ratio is 3-to-1. If your camper has extensive support needs, 1-to-1 support may be available for an additional fee. Please email inclusionprograms@brampon.ca for details. Alternatively, you can provide your own third-party support worker (must be 16 years of age or older, with a valid Vulnerable Sector Check/ Criminal Record Check (for those under the age of 18) obtained within the last 3 months. Please email a copy to thirdpartysupport@brampton.ca) to support in the program.
As a program requirement, all participants must have a current Inclusion and Integration Participant Profile form completed prior to program start date. If the participant requires medication administration during program hours, a Personal Information Record form also must be completed prior to program start date.
To support the success, safety, and inclusion of all programs and participants, it is important that all participants are group ready as they will be in a small group ratio. Participants must be able to follow directions and instructions from staff and adhere to the City of Brampton's Behaviour Guidelines for Participant Conduct.
Campers may be grouped based on age and ability.
Campers must bring a nut-free lunch and snacks, a reusable water bottle and wear comfortable outdoor/weather appropriate clothing.
Have all items labelled with participant's name. Leave all valuables at home, the City of Brampton is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
