Description
Prepares participants to apprentice as a Trainer in their choice of: Swim, Lifesaving, National Lifeguard, First Aid, Aquatic Management or Coach. Appointment as a Trainer is a 3-step process: 1. Successfully completing the Trainer Course, 2. successfully apprenticing with an experienced Trainer on a stream of choice, and 3. submitting a completed Training Record with the certification fee.
Candidates must provide proof of identification (valid government ID with full legal name, and birth date) and proof of the following prerequisites: 1 of the following: Bronze Examiner, First Aid Examiner, or National Lifeguard Examiner certifications OR experience as a Swim Instructor, Officials Instructor, Aquatic Management Instructor or Lifesaving Sport Coach (does not need to be current), on the first day of the course.
Required Materials: Candidates must purchase all course materials directly through the Lifesaving Society. Trainer Manual, leadership award guide(s) for each Instructor course. Canadian Lifesaving Manual, Canadian First Aid Manual, Alert - Lifeguard in Action Manual, and Instructor Notes for reference.
Registration for this course will close 7 days prior to the start of the course. This course may require the completion of a pre-course assignment.
