Description
This is a combined Preschool 4 and Preschool 5 class. Participants will work at the appropriate level.
Preschool 4: Advanced preschoolers ages 3-5 will build confidence and independence in the water in this 30 minute class by learning to perform solo jumps into deeper water and safely exit on their own, often while wearing a PFD. They will practice side roll entries, open their eyes underwater, and develop foundational swimming skills including a short 3 to 5 meter swim on their front. Additionally, they will work on gliding and kicking on their side, as well as lateral rollovers from front to back and back to front, and flutter kicking over a distance of 5 meters.
Preschool 5: These confident young swimmers (ages 3-5) are ready for more adventure as they practice a forward roll entry while wearing a personal flotation device and holding their breath underwater for up to 10 seconds. In this 30 minute class (with a class ratio of 4:1), they'll develop their skills with longer front and back crawl swims, engage in interval training, and enjoy the fun of learning the whip kick. They'll also work on treading water for up to 10 seconds, submerging and retrieving objects from chest-deep water, and gliding on their side while swimming short distances with a PFD.
