Build water confidence and develop essential swimming skills in this beginner-friendly 45 minute class designed for teens ages 12-17, with a class ratio of 10:1. Participants will work towards swimming 10–15 meters on both their front and back, with a focus on smooth, recognizable strokes and improved fitness. Swimmers will learn and refine fundamental techniques including front and back floats and glides, flutter kick on front, side, and back, and breath control. Safety skills such as jump entries, treading water with a PFD, and recovering objects from chest-deep water are also covered. This level introduces interval training with flutter kick sets (2–4 x 9–12 meters) to build endurance. Swimmers will set personal goals and progress at their own pace, working towards a continuous swim of 25–50 meters.
