Are your teens looking for something fun to do this summer? Do they like working with kids? Come join our youth summer volunteer program!
Our program is all about teens discovering more about themselves, growing their leadership skills, making new relationships, and working with the Genesis Place summer day camp programs! This training is designed for ages 13+ to gain the skills and abilities necessary to be confident volunteers. We utilize the LEAD training developed by the City of Calgary to ensure quality standards and to make sure that our volunteers are ready to handle all situations they will be involved with during day camps.
Volunteer training will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, and 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Genesis Place. All participants must be able to commit to the full training course as well as provide availability for an additional 4 full weeks in the summer. Once registered, information will be sent regarding course specifics. There will be additional training on July 2 and 3 (9am-3:30pm) that will be required for all new volunteers to attend.
All eligible Genesis Place day camp volunteers will receive a free youth summer pass to use all summer long, as well as a certificate for their training upon completion.
